Who were some famous artists during the Revolutionary War and what were some famous pieces?
Some famous artists during the revolutionary war were Edward Hopper, John Trumbull, Charles Willson Peale, and a numerous number of more. Edward Hopper was a painter, diplomat, and architect. He was known for painting Revolutionary War figures and battles. His most familiar painting appeared on the back of the American two dollar bill, in 1817-1819 called “Declaration of Independence.” He created a series to represent our Nation’s founders.

Charles Willson Peale was an American painter who was immensely known for his portraits of leading figures in the Revolutionary War. He didn't have a “known” piece, all of his artwork was extraordinary. Some of his paintings are below.

Inspite of being a scientist, inventor, “American Hero,” he was also a artist. On May 9, 1754 he published a cartoon, labeled “Join, or Die.” During the Revolutionary War it was called a “unity” meaning whole, that brought everyone together thinking. If you didn't join you would be perished! Some people think it’s a map but, others just look at it as if it were just a basic cartoon.
